Senior Data Scientist, Training Aircraft Readiness (4762)at SMX(View all jobs) ( United States SMX is looking for a Training Aircraft Readiness Senior Data Scientist to support the Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office (PMA 273) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. PMA-273 is responsible for managing the aircraft, simulators, and associated systems that support the U.S. Navy's undergraduate pilot training pipeline. This Program Office's purview includes the acquisition, development and maintenance of six trainer aircraft: TH-73 Thrasher, T-44 Pegasus, T-45 Goshawk, T-6 Texan II, and T-54A Marlin II. These aircraft and programs also include related simulator suites, academic materials, computer-based training integration systems and contractor logistics support. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Lead advanced training aircraft readiness analysis, applying statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and readiness metrics evaluation to identify trends, assess training aircraft readiness performance, and provide actionable insights that improve mission availability. + Provide high-level subject matter expertise, analysis, and technical guidance to support project execution. **Required Skills/Experience** + Clearance Required: Secret + A Management, Technical or Scientific master's degree from an accredited college or university is required. + Allowable substitution: a Business, Management, Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience. + Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering or operations analysis position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems + Must have demonstrated experience in area of engineering expertise. + Proficiency in analyzing and extracting data from DoD aviation maintenance and logistics systems (e.g., NALDA, OOMA, DECKPLATE). + Experience working with aircraft maintenance, logistics, and readiness data to evaluate fleet performance and operational availability. + Knowledge of DoD aviation maintenance processes, readiness metrics (Full-Mission Capable (FMC) & Mission Capable (MC) rates) and reporting standards. + Ability to integrate data across multiple DoD systems to perform trend analysis, predictive maintenance forecasting, and readiness assessments. + Familiarity with DoD data governance, security, and compliance requirements, including handling of controlled unclassified information (CUI). + Experience building dashboards and readiness reports for senior leadership and program managers within defense organizations. + Expertise in applying statistical and analytical methods directly to aircraft sustainment and operational readiness problems. **Application Deadline:** 11/24/2025 \#cjpost #LI-REMOTE The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
