Position: Full Stack Java Developer w/ DBA Expertise

Duration : 6-perm

Pay : $75/hr-$80/hr

Location: 1x/week onsite in Ashburn, VA

Clearance: Active Top Secret – will be processed for a CBP BI (Cannot have a reinvestigation coming up in 6 months) – can start ASAP if have a current CBP BI

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer with DBA expertise to support a federal end customer with a build and modernization effort. This role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our core applications while ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our PostgreSQL database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will seamlessly navigate between building robust Java-based backend services, crafting intuitive frontend experiences, and expertly managing our critical data assets.

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and participation in code reviews
• Use data, validation, and feedback strategies that deliver code backed by qualitative and quantities testing
• Serve as a data and technology expert across a broad and diverse set of mission critical applications
• Conduct data modeling, tuning, scaling, security, backup, recovery, and integrity of RDBMS, specifically PostgreSQL in AWS
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives and solution releases
• Analyze project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving technology, analytic methodologies, and advanced solution components

Must haves:

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (experience can be used in lieu of degree)
• At least seven years related technical experience with a combination of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, including performance tuning, replication, backup/recovery, and security and professional experience in Java application development
