Job Title: Security Designer / Estimator

Overview

Topa Group, Inc. is partnering with a reputable Security Integrator to add a Security Designer/Estimator to their growing team. This role plays a key part in supporting the sales and operations process by developing accurate system designs, proposals, and documentation for electronic security projects including CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales on bid requirements and design-build proposals.
• Review and scrub bid packages for accuracy, ensuring consistency between drawings, scope of work, and consultant documentation.
• Prepare and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) when necessary.
• Build Bills of Material (BOMs) using proposal software such as WeSuite.
• Review RCPs, floor plans, and related documentation to assess technical and labor requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into effective design-build system solutions.
• Assist Sales with developing Scope of Work documents and proposal deliverables.
• Identify and communicate technical or logistical challenges for upcoming projects.
• Obtain and review electronic plans from engineers, architects, or owners.
• Create engineered drawings (AutoCAD or similar), record drawings, and O&M manuals as required by project specifications.
• Participate in internal design review meetings with Project Managers.
• Support project turnover meetings between sales and project teams, providing all relevant documentation and programming graphics.
• Generate complete BOMs for procurement and coordinate material purchasing needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electronic security design or estimating preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and proposal software (e.g., WeSuite).
• Strong understanding of electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
