Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee all phases of assigned projects - including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, contracts, and purchase orders - while maintaining professional and effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. This position reports directly to the Senior Project Manager .

Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Prepare, review, and return submittals for materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with Superintendents and Operations Managers to determine crew, equipment, and resource needs.
- Develop and maintain project cost codes and regularly update job cost tracking.
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Review and approve subcontractor and supplier estimates, invoices, and change orders.
- Negotiate and coordinate all extra work orders and scope changes.
- Monitor production, resource utilization, and project costs to maintain targeted profit margins.
- Prepare and present monthly job cost and profitability projections.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects , such as site development, roadwork, utilities, bridges, or earthwork.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and quality standards in a heavy civil environment.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, engineers, and local government agencies.
- Proficiency in construction management software, estimating tools, and project documentation.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
